My Story

Purple Yomp Update: I completed my 30 mile Purple Yomp Fundraiser in 7 hours, 15 minutes, 16 seconds in 2022.  In 2023, I completed 30 miles carrying 35 lbs for 24 Commando Royal Engineers. The journey doesn't stop there, I am determined to carry on and raise as much awareness as well as funds while fighting against Lewy Body Dementia and Parkinsonism. So Operation Purple Yomp continues, I am going to log my journey from Day 1 to the end of Week 13 of my version of the Royal Marines Commando journey Parkinsonism style while raising funds for the Royal Marines Charity and Royal Marines Commando Training Centre Lympstone (CTCRM).

In honour of my great grandad who served in the Royal Marines Light Infantry during WWI and fought in Gallipoli and for all the Royal Marines Charity has done for me and continues to do, as my body progresses with Lewy Body Dementia. I wanted to do another big fundraiser while I can to help raise awareness for Dementia and Parkinsonism but more importantly to help raise awareness for the Royal Marine Charity and all the good work they do.
